New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an Assistant University Events Manager, reporting to the Director, Commercial & University Events.


The Assistant University Events Manager is responsible for planning and execution of events ensuring a successful delivery. Manage events that meet strategic goals of the University; conceptualize themes, present ideas, and research requests, assess feasibility, and make recommendations to ensure the implementation of successful, targeted events. Take the lead during the event preplanning, buildup and breakdown, ensuring any external vendors meet all operational requirements relevant to EHS, compliance, work permits and also working with procurement & finance department on contracts and invoicing. Create site scenarios and action plans, seating arrangements, floor plans, etc. for small and large events, and provide full logistical support during the lead up and event day.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead, manage and provide operational support including planning and execution of high-quality events, such as exhibitions, conferences, seminars and other university-related activities for the leadership, faculty, staff and students

  • Responsible for all aspects of event coordination from request intake, venue bookings, catering, AV production, branding and onsite support
  • Manage support staff i.e., Serco, ADNH and external service providers to ensure services requested are delivered in an efficient and a quality manner
  • Oversee and manage all operational and/or production aspects of Annual Commencement Exercises and related documents
  • Optimize and oversee branding activities and marketing materials
  • Support departmental administrative needs like maintaining records, processing payments etc. as needed


Required Education, Certifications, Licensing or Training: 

  • Bachelor degree required
  • UAE Driving License

Preferred Education, Certifications, Licensing or Training: 

  • Bachelor degree in hospitality, or hotels and meetings management 

Required Experience: 

  • 5 years of specialized event and operational events requirements
  • Excellent catering knowledge, and able to operate in different scope of events

Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience in higher education institutions highly regarded
  • UAE experience
