New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an Assistant Director, Marketing & Communications reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing & Communications.

 

The Assistant Director is a locally based representative of the Enrollment Management Marketing & Communications team who develops and implements communication plans and activities to further the primary goal of attracting future students for NYU Abu Dhabi.  The Assistant Director will report to the Associate Director of Marketing in Abu Dhabi and will liaise with the NYUAD Public Affairs team, and the NYUAD Admissions office in Abu Dhabi, ensuring that communications plans are well-integrated and support both UAE-specific outreach, MENA-region outreach, as well as NYUAD’s global outreach.  The scope of work includes outreach to prospects in the admissions database, proposing MENA and UAE-specific content for online and print media, capturing content from current students to benefit Enrollment marketing as well as retention efforts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development & Maintenance of NYUAD Marketing Materials
  • Manage the development and update of all NYUAD marketing materials (print, digital, presentations, videos, gift items, etc.), in partnership and coordination with the NY University Relations & Public Affairs (URPA)Team, or AD Public Affairs Team or hired third party creative agencies
  • Create and manage photo bank for emails campaign, publications (in coordination with NY Marketing team and AD Public Affairs)
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with other departments (particularly Campus Life) in Abu Dhabi in order to incorporate relevant info in admissions marketing and communications
  • Ensure that the NYU brand as well as NYUAD branding elements are appropriately represented across all print and digital communications
  • Coordinate Digital & Email Marketing for Local and International Audiences
  • In coordination with the NY Marketing team, plan and roll out a series of email campaigns to NYUAD CRM inquiry pool ensuring both student and parent inquiries are engaged through timely and targeted communications
  • Organize with the Associate Director of Marketing expanded marketing outreach through digital, social or OOH campaigns and activities
  • Work with AD Public Affairs Team to ensure up-to-date and dynamic content on NYUAD admissions website, including student profiles, video highlights, event information, and alignment with NY admissions content
  • Facilitate NYUAD student contributions to NYU content site
  • Work with Marketing team to incorporate current student information in print, email and web content
  • Coordinate the development of timely email communications supporting the NYUAD admissions recruitment activities (understand initiatives, collate requirements and channel briefs to the NY Marketing Team)
  • Work with the NY team on the digital ambassador program for Meet NYU social media platforms aiming at featuring NYUAD students and stories.
  • Support on- and-off campus Events for NYUAD
  • Collaborate with the AD Visitor Relations and Events Team to roll out on and off campus events and experiences designed to target high school students, high school counselor and parents
  • Coordinate RSVP process and related communications using CRM platform for on-site and regional admitted student events
  • Work with AD admissions team and events team to plan participation in UAE education fairs or global recruitment tours (in-person/virtual), including stand design/virtual page design and content, collateral, related media campaigns, and publicizing events to prospects
  • Conduct focus groups with current students and alumni to enhance communications and marketing strategies
  • UAE-Specific Marketing
  • Research and identify appropriate marketing and outreach opportunities in the UAE, including websites, publications, social media or events
  • Manage all “nurture” marketing campaigns for inquiries in the database
  • Support lead generation activities for UAE populations
  • Review and analyze marketing data (campaigns performance and student leads)

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications or related field

 

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years social media, marketing, and communications experience, preferably relating to higher education
  • Superior written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills in English Arabic is an advantage)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with and across teams and to function well in a larger and global environment
  • Results and detail oriented, highly organized and creative self-starter
  • Ability to set goals and easily adapt to changing demands
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as required by admissions events

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in developing and executing creative marketing campaigns across multiple channels
  • Demonstrated success in delivering innovative and targeted marketing campaigns that generate results
  • Experience in marketing research and analysis
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding and social media platforms and how each platform can be used effectively
  • Aware of changing social media trends including new platforms and tools
  • Experience working in highly diverse environment or with content designed for diverse environment
  • Experience in digital marketing: CRM/Web/Social
