Development Management and Operations Advisor - Advancement & Philanthropy (Fixed-Term untill August 31, 2023)

New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Development Management and Operations Advisor reporting to the Director of Development and Partnerships at NYU Abu Dhabi.

The Development Management and Operations Advisor will support the Executive Director, fundraising Directors, and Portfolio Managers in streamlining and making efficient all key fundraising processes, work on a variety of strategic, operational and management initiatives that support NYUAD’s fundraising initiative.  The Advisor will support the DARO Executive Director in leading all fundraising processes to ensure timeliness, efficiency and productivity of the day-to-day activities. Most importantly, the external outreach of the frontline fundraisers. A key function is managing the volunteer groups such as the Vice Chancellor’s Leadership Circle and other departments’ advisory circles, including drafting and editing proposals, research, preparing briefings and contact reports along with supervising such functions of the support staff. In addition, the communication with UDAR in New York, on data base updates and training of the DARO team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Director in managing the daily activities of the team members as described above, including drafting and editing of timely thank you letters, briefings, proposals, and research
• Manage the needs of the frontline fundraisers, volunteer groups, such as VC advisory and other groups. This includes preparing agendas, taking minutes of meetings, and drafting, editing and sending communication on behalf of the VC
• Supervise several staff members to ensure timeliness delivery on requests from the frontline fundraisers, such as proposal writing, setting schedules and preparing briefing and contact reports
• Support DARO staff with drafting and editing proposals, preparing briefings and contact reports
• Assist the DARO Executive Director and Vice Chancellor with joint outreach activities
• Manage special fundraising initiatives as assigned by the DARO leadership on a project basis (e.g.: activation of giving opportunities for Alumni and Parents, and any other activity assigned by the Executive Director of DARO

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Education:

• Master’s Degree

Required Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience working in international fundraising
• Report writing skills, ability to organize and prioritize, database management knowledge

Preferred Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience working in higher education fundraising
• Advanced communication and report writing skills, supervisory ability, excellent computer skills
