New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Communications Coordinator to report to the Assistant Manager, Social Science Operations.


The Communications Coordinator owns responsibility for telling the NYUAD Social Science Division story, which encompasses creating, developing, implementing and managing all communication aspects of the department internally and externally. The position will execute communications strategies to increase audience engagement metrics, and web traffic. The Communications Coordinator will also maintain a strong social media presence for the Division, developing original content and implementing digital communications strategies on NYU Abu Dhabi social media accounts and other digital platforms.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining divisional webpages on the NYUAD public website
  • Supporting all of Dean’s Office internal Communications
  • Ensuring all communications are high quality, consistent, accurate, and relevant to the audience
  • Tracking research output and achievements of both Faculty and Researchers
  • Compiling content and creating both weekly and monthly internal newsletters directed to Faculty, Researchers and Students
  • Drafting and posting social media posts
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
  • Supporting divisional branding needs (logos, poster templates, etc.) and managing the ordering and stock of divisional merchandise


Required Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of social media marketing experience or comparable digital communications experience
  • Experience using content management systems (CMS) and/or management of websites
  • Familiarity with social media platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+
  • Familiarity with web etiquette and tone
  • Ability to create and deliver creative content (text, image, and video)
  • Excellent command of the English language and grammar
