NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an Executive Director, Strategy, Operations and Budget to join the new Stern at NYUAD team. NYU Stern School of Business and NYUAD have partnered to offer the Stern at NYUAD One-year Full-time MBA program. The Executive Director, Strategy, Operations and Budget serves as the senior strategy, operations, technology, facilities and finance officer. The Executive Director will direct the planning and management of financial, IT and facilities resources, direct operations, administrative services, and resource planning areas; direct daily operations for Information Technology (network operations, data warehousing, application analysis and development, PC support , help desk, and media services), Budget/Financial Planning, and Administrative Services departments.
The Executive Director will serve as a member of the senior management team in the development of strategic planning initiatives and the delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to meet objectives in the areas of budget, finance, information technology, and administrative services
- Identify strategies to enhance the effective delivery of these operations and services. Direct the preparation, planning, and control of budget and financial matters
- Establish control procedures, policies, and standards to ensure adherence to University policies and procedures
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to determine tuition levels for the program
- Manage and advise on budgetary, financial, and operational considerations related to the introduction of the program
- Evaluate and prioritize financial impact of program improvements
- Advise regarding budgetary trends and plan the long-term allocation of resources
- Lead the development of and maintain a strategic plan for technology and other information resources, in support of teaching, learning, research, and administration
- Oversee technology development and implementation, aligning development plan to priorities
- Serve as portfolio manager for IT projects and deployments
- Develop and structure annual and multiple-year budgets
- Direct the compilation of data regarding past revenue and expenditures
- Prepare financial analyses, projections, and models that ensure a stable and healthy financial environment
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize utilization of resources and approved budgets
- Work with senior leadership on structuring and negotiating financial and administrative aspects of proposals for funding
- Ensure compliance with university and government guidelines
- Direct operations and oversee major planning and construction projects to achieve programmatic and budgetary objectives
- Develop strategies for facilities management and related services
- Search and acquire space for various programs and initiatives
- Work with maintenance and operations, construction and planning, and external vendors to establish facilities needs and to plan, budget, and schedule renovation and construction projects
- Also oversee regular maintenance and upkeep of the buildings and grounds
- Develop and direct the implementation of financial changes, policies, procedures, and financial guidelines in support of programs and services
- Develop, direct, and implement a historical reporting and record keeping for resources and ongoing financial activity
- Utilize systems to plan and forecast future budgets
- Manage the deposit and recording of gifts and donations
- Supervise the dissemination of regular financial reports to departments and the reconciliation of incoming financial statements from NYUAD’s central administrative offices (e.g., Controller's Division, Internal Audit)
- Determine funding sources for budgeted and non-budgeted personnel expenses to meet budgeting and recruitment guidelines
- Develop and supervise operations, administrative and office staff, determine staffing needs, evaluate performance, establish goals and priorities, and provide career development guidance to maintain appropriate level of required support
- Serve as representative to NYUAD and NYUNY financial, facilities, and technology officers, senior leadership, staff, Center Directors and chairpersons regarding the quality, cost, and response time of financial and administrative support services
- Ensure that the Controller's Division accurately executes expenditures
- Collaborate with various University offices to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
