New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Director of Development, Major Gift reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement.
The primary responsibility of the Director of Development is to raise major contributions from high net worth individuals (alumni and friends of the University), Corporations, Trusts and Foundations. In preparation for a major university wide comprehensive campaign, the Director will focus on raising philanthropic and sponsorship support to fuel NYUAD’s campaign. In this role, the Director will identify, cultivate and steward key major gift /principal gift relationships. Superb communication skills are required to translate the NYUAD narrative and comprehensive needs into compelling and attractive propositions for investment. The role will require close working relationships with key internal stakeholders across the entire University (NYUAD and NYU), especially Faculty who are key partners in fundraising success.
Key performance indicators will include rigorous moves management goals across all phases of qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Metrics will also include targets based on size and status of portfolio. The Development Director’s prospect portfolio will reflect a variety of sectors and regions with priority given to local and regional prospects. Occasional international relationship management may be required. The Director will ensure that prospects, donors and key internal stakeholders are continuously engaged in the NYUAD community.
