New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Study Away Program Specialist reporting to the Head of Global Student Mobility Operations and Study Abroad.
The Specialist maintains master semester onboarding list for cross-department tracking and provides statistical data and analysis required each onboarding cycle. Organizes and maintains detailed records on semesters and J-Terms abroad, and generates statistical data and analysis for departmental reporting. Receives regular training from the registrar to be able to run sophisticated reports from the UDW+ system. Processes and organizes the semester-long study away application records for review. Tracks follow-up submissions of materials by students and advises them on requirements as needed. Reviews degree audits and transcripts as part of the internal study away application review. Tracks final submissions of applications through the Slate system of the New York Office of Global Programs and supports the final approval process management. Provides regular reports on student application status. Holds primary responsibility for study away logistics support and specialized visa advising for students going to the following semester abroad, J-Term and summer abroad locations and international trip locations for J-Term. Manages the production of study visa documentation and organizes arrangements for NYUAD students in semester-long, J-Term and summer abroad programs. Advises students on visa application requirements and guides them through the visa processes as needed. Manages student study away allowance records and oversees all study away-related upload processes with the Student Finance department. Maintains student mobility calendar for study away and J-Term programs. Tracks student applications through the Slate enrollment process with the New York Office of Global Programs. Liaises with the New York team on all aspects of study away on- and off-boarding of NYUAD students. Leads pre-departure support and orientation sessions for semester-long, J-Term and summer abroad programs. Generates and updates orientation materials. Provides support for new programs and initiatives as assigned. May have to work rare evenings and/or weekends as per program requirements.
