New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Assistant Manager, Strategy and Partner Relations reporting to the Director, Strategy and Partner Relations.

 

The Assitant Manager of Strategy and Partner Relations will represent NYUAD strategies, programs, and interests our government at the university level and provides leadership and assistance to other offices to ensure effective and coordinated communications at lower levels; facilitates internal strategy development, project management and leads the development of reports and other written products that analyze issues of mutual concern and advocate for favorable outcomes; cultivates and supports key stakeholder relationships; anticipates stakeholder questions and concerns and prepares effective strategies and responses to address them; advises and provides staff support to the Director for Strategy & Partner Relations,  Senior Associate Vice Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Provost and other university leaders in managing engagements with our government; and performs other duties as assigned.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Data Management and Analysis

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and ensure integrity of data and consistency in reporting methodology in documents developed for internal leadership and government partner
  • Manage and facilitate internal strategy development efforts (managing stakeholders and aligning internal strategy); and support the development of reports, memoranda, presentations, and other written products with rigorous and clearly presented analytical content that effectively explain and advocate for NYUAD’s strategies, programs, and interests to Senior Leadership, our government and its board

Annual Planning Process lead

  • Actively take the lead on understanding key departmental objectives and support the team by tracking and meeting those objectives
  • Maintain visibility of strategic planning processes and initiatives throughout the University during the planning process to ensure meaningful collaboration, and comprehensive and effective implementation

Reporting and Documentation

  • Create an electronic repository of information related to the internal processes and procedures. Proactively update and maintain the department's database ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times
  • Support the development of reports, memoranda, presentations, and other written products that effectively explain and advocate for NYUAD’s strategies, programs, and interests to government partner(s) and their Board
  • Conduct general research in the area of expertise to understand internal policies and procedures pertaining to the department
  • Gather and document functional essentials that control the internal business processes
  • Being an active member of the team to support in projects / activities, including ad hoc activities as requested by the supervisor

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Data Analysis or related fields

Preferred Education:

  • Advanced Certification or Professional Qualification Diploma

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of the academic, research, and operational functions of major research universities
  • Excellent skills in strategic communications and messaging
  • Superior written and oral communication skills in English, including technical writing skills
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data
  • Be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards
  • Ability to build consensus to achieve strategic goals in an environment of multiple stakeholders with diverse interests and perspectives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including demonstrated skill in working with diverse groups of people and navigating cultural differences with respect and grace
  • Ability to manage complex projects and deliver excellent results on time
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information and situations with utmost discretion
  • Excellent computer skills, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. (Skill in other presentation software, Mekko Graphics, and/or other related tools would be helpful)

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Management, Higher Education Administration or related

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of governmental budgeting and agency oversight policies and procedures in the UAE, Qatar, and/or other Gulf countries
  • Arabic language skills
