New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Program Coordinator for the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program and Summer Academy, specializing in Logistics & Media Facilitation, reporting to the Assistant Manager for Programming & Strategy.
The Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program and the NYUAD Summer Academy together form the core of NYU Abu Dhabi’s Community Programs, which offer a rigorous educational, cross-cultural, and leadership development experience to outstanding students in the UAE, and equips students from local institutions for admission to the world's top undergraduate and graduate programs. A third program, the Image Nation/NYUAD Young Filmmakers Workshop, was added to the department in 2016.
The Sheikh Mohamed Scholars Program is open to top students at the three national UAE universities—Zayed University, the United Arab Emirates University, and Higher Colleges of Technology—and provides unique access to specially designed courses, lectures, leadership experiences, networking, and graduate school opportunities and scholarships. The NYUAD Summer Academy is a two-year program designed to enhance the academic profiles of highly motivated Abu Dhabi-based Emirati high school students by preparing them for entry into top-tier English-language universities. The Young Filmmakers Workshop is a three-week program for Abu Dhabi-based Emirati high school students that provides exposure to the art of narrative filmmaking.
The Program Coordinator will work in a small team of highly motivated individuals, where an environment of collaboration, high engagement, and initiative is fostered. Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager of Programming and Strategy, the SMSP/SA Program Coordinator is responsible for the following duties:
