Senior Director, Accreditation and Curricular Affairs - Office of the Vice Provost

New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Senior Director, Accreditation and Curricular Affairs reporting to the Vice Provost. 

This position leads institutional licensure, program accreditation, and curriculum development activities in accordance with the requirements of UAE, US, and professional accreditation bodies as appropriate in support of NYUAD’s Academic Strategy and its institutional mission.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide leadership and direct support to all academic and non-academic units in the development of required periodic accreditation reports. This includes drafting all institutional components of accreditation submissions and the editorial review of all related programmatic and departmental elements
• Oversee and support academic divisions throughout the new program development process, providing direct guidance and assistance to faculty development teams. This includes ensuring programmatic compliance with all pertinent regulatory mandates and securing the requisite endorsements and approvals from faculty governance structures and external regulatory authorities
• Oversee and support curricular growth and development for all accredited academic programs through ex-officio membership of institutional-level Curriculum Committee
• Curate and maintain an institutional document repository that tracks accreditation and curricular development actions and their resulting outcome
• Oversee and update the institutional calendar of upcoming accreditation renewals
• Recommend and support the development of novel, and the revision of extant, university policies and procedures related to accreditation and curriculum development, to assure consistent adherence to the mandates of faculty governance and external regulatory agencies
• Act as the primary contact person for ADEK, CAA and Middle States, and other professional accreditation bodies as appropriate. Represent NYU Abu Dhabi at meetings and events related to accreditation, hosted by these bodies and other institutions. Facilitate all accreditation review visits and on-site meetings by these accrediting bodies. Stay current with trends, developments and regulatory requirements relating to academic program and institutional accreditation within the framework of UAE, US, and professional bodies’ regulation
• Ensure that all operations of the Office of Accreditation and Curricular Affairs operate consistently with applicable university policies and procedures and applicable laws and in support of NYUAD’s Academic Strategy. Monitor and assess risk and develop mitigation strategies regarding the office’s remit

Required Education: 

• Master’s Degree in a related field 

Required Experience: 

• 7+ years of academic accreditation and assessment experience
• Excellent writing, strong interpersonal skills, facility with appropriate software, MS Office, Survey Software

Preferred Experience: 

• Arabic proficiency
