New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Associate Director, Executive Development & Financial Sector Engagement reporting to the Director, Career Development - Stern@NYUAD.

The Associate Director, Executive Development & Financial Sector Engagement will be required to develop and execute the Career Management Center’s Executive MBA (EMBA) professional development services offering at Stern at NYUAD, and design and deliver a comprehensive professional development program for EMBA students, providing individual and group coaching across all stages of the EMBA journey – from onboarding through to post-graduation. The incumbent will serve as the primary executive coach for EMBA students, covering professional development topics such as self-assessment, personal branding, executive presence, professional growth strategy, with experience supporting senior professionals, executive learners, and leadership-level career transitions being highly valued.

They will be in charge of building and managing strategic corporate relationships that generate career/professional development opportunities for both EMBA and MBA students and alumni, with a particular focus on the financial services sector, and act as the CMC’s subject matter lead for finance-related career coaching across both EMBA and MBA cohorts, and collaborate closely with the MBA career coaching team and corporate/employer relations team, as well as partnering with the Associate Director, Executive MBA Programs to ensure seamless delivery of CMC programming within the broader EMBA schedule, including weekend program days and residency weeks in New York City / Shanghai.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deliver the CMC’s EMBA professional development (PD) program
• Lead the end-to-end PD curriculum for EMBA students, encompassing workshops, seminars, e-learning modules, and group/individual coaching sessions
• Topics include self-assessment, personal branding, executive presence, and networking strategy
• Continuously evaluate program effectiveness using student feedback and relevant data to inform and enhance PD initiatives
• Build and manage strategic corporate relationships in support of EMBA and MBA student professional/career development
• Develop a targeted outreach strategy for engaging employers across the financial services sector
• Cultivate relationships with executive search firms, industry leaders, alumni, and corporate partners to expand leadership-level professional opportunities and strengthen the institution’s employer ecosystem
• Collaborate closely with CMC’s employer/corporate relations team to ensure alignment with program-wide corporate strategy and to maximize the depth and breadth of employer engagement
• Provide individual and group coaching to EMBA students
• Assess career goals, interests, and values; identify skills gaps and recommend tailored professional/career development resources, programs, and industry-specific pathways
• Advise students on specific companies and roles aligned with their individual objectives
• Support students at all career stages, including those seeking senior promotions and/or pivoting functions/industries
  Serve as the CMC’s subject matter lead for finance-related coaching/advisory across MBA and EMBA programs
• Partner with CMC’s Coaching and Education team to provide specialist coaching and targeted programming for MBA students pursuing finance careers
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of finance sector hiring trends, in-demand skills, and key employers in the UAE, GCC, and MENA to inform coaching and corporate engagement strategies
• Collaborate with internal partners to ensure integrated and seamless delivery of EMBA professional development and executive career strategy
• Work closely with the Associate Director, EMBA Program on scheduling, logistics, and on-site delivery of CMC programming within monthly class days and residency weeks, including weekend sessions as required
• Partner with the PASE team, Admissions Team, Dean’s Office, and colleagues across Stern at NYU Abu Dhabi, NYU Abu Dhabi, NYU Shanghai, and NYU Stern New York to align CMC’s services with the broader EMBA student experience
• Represent Stern at NYUAD’s CMC externally and build the profile of the EMBA program with employers and alumni
• Attend and contribute to professional associations, industry events, and networking forums
• Leverage alumni networks to expand employer reach, generate mentorship and advisory opportunities for students, and strengthen the CMC’s presence in the MENA/GCC market

Required Education

• Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

• 7+ years must have strong experience supporting talent development, recruiting, employer engagement, or career advisory functions within the financial services sector (e.g. private equity, venture capital, investment banking, asset management, corporate finance, or a finance-focused recruiting function covering a broad spectrum of services in the industry)
• Must have demonstrable experience in professional development coaching, career program design and delivery, or executive coaching
• Experience facilitating workshops or presentations for senior professional audiences is required
• Knowledge of working with key executive search partners in the UAE
• Experience in managing resume books while working with sectoral club leaders to create industry-relevant books
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and present credibly to senior executive audiences
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Ability to use market insights, stakeholder feedback, and outcome data to inform strategic programming decisions
• Ability to design and facilitate engaging career workshops, coaching sessions, and corporate engagement activities
• Highly organized with the ability to manage a complex workload and multiple priorities across cohorts
• Proficiency with career/professional management platforms and standard office software
• Strong service orientation, exercising discretion and professional judgement at all times

Preferred Education

• Master's Degree Advanced Degree (Master’s or Doctorate) In Business, Finance, or equivalent field
• Professional coaching, career development, or executive advisory certifications (e.g., ICF, GCDF, career coaching, leadership development)

Preferred Experience

• 10+ years in finance, executive education, or MBA/EMBA career services Experience working with international EMBA or senior executive cohorts in a coaching or programme delivery capacity
• Strong understanding of the MENA/GCC employment market and business (especially financial services) landscape
• Experience working with diverse, multicultural constituencies in an international environment
• Experience engaging executive search firms, leadership hiring ecosystems, or senior-level recruitment networks is advantageous
• Prior experience in a business school setting
• Experience in organising corporate/ finance treks and partnering with key business stakeholders in the UAE (e.g., Hub71, ADGM, DIFC, etc.)
• Ability to organise virtual career events with key international companies and workshops with executive search firms
• Sound knowledge of different financial services career transitions, such as IB to PE, PE to SWFs, etc., and work with MBAs/EMBAs setting realistic career goals
