New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Public Safety Security System Administrator and Project Manager reporting to the Director, Public Safety Operations.
The Public Safety Security System Administrator and Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring all Security System electronic architecture is fully functioning and supportive to daily security operations. In depth knowledge of CCTV, Electronic Access Control/ID Card Management systems and other electronic security systems ‘on the edge’ products are also a core responsibility for this position. Conducting feasibility studies involving potential Security Systems or applications under consideration by user departments. It also requires investigating potential electronic security solutions and recommending courses of action to ensure people assets and infrastructure are safeguarded. Requires the ability to prepare detailed project analysis plans for implementing proposed Security System products and associated cost projections. To coordinate with successful vendors to determine the overall system implementation flow, programs, and procedures to accomplish the various tasks. The incumbent will coordinate and supervise the implementation, integration, programming and testing/commissioning of the installed Security System equipment and software. The individual will also provide and/or coordinate the training necessary for successful operation. Review and accept the necessary security system operation and procedure manuals required from vendors. The administrator will be able to concisely compile relevant daily security System operating reports and logs.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the NYU Abu Dhabi community and protection of its assets. The position will manage and improve the enterprise, global systems that are fundamental and critical to the physical security technology program. The position will execute Public Safety Policy University-wide for the operation and maintenance of access control and security video systems. Implement established protocols related to access permissions. The position will propose feedback on the creation of standard operating procedures for the use of new technologies implemented through departmental and capital projects.
This position requires in depth knowledge of technical Security Systems, prior experience with the ‘Lenel’ system and infrastructure to Enterprise level is essential.
Supervises technical and support personnel and vendors through the various stages of a project. Interfaces with the established Security System Maintenance Support Vendor to ensure faults and equipment are changed or restored to operational effectiveness, to ensure daily operations is supported, through to testing and commissioning phases.This position will have the responsibility for managing and improving a large and complex access control, video and security application. The position requires the incumbent to respond both tactically and strategically to security risks and technical issues and planning with far reaching impact
