    New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Public Affairs & Communications Manager reporting to the Associate Director, Public Affairs. 


    The Public Affairs & Communications Manager plays an essential role in increasing the visibility of NYUAD to local and international constituencies. This position is responsible for representing NYUAD’s internal and external communications through interaction with faculty, staff, media and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include:


    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the Associate Director of Public Affairs in the advancement of NYUAD’s overall communications strategy
    • Lead the development and implementation of an Arabic communications strategy on media relations and digital marketing and communications
    • Act as the primary Arabic press liaison for NYUAD through the provision of information and promotion of the university and its programs
    • Work with the Public Affairs & Communications team to implement communications campaigns across different distribution platforms
    • Build and maintain affiliations with external stakeholders, media outlets (with a focus on Arabic media) and the general public to ensure effective relationships are developed with key personnel and organizations, both nationally and internationally
    • Generate Arabic and English media coverage on university-related events, news, and accomplishments
    • Produce internal and external communications including media coverage reports, press releases, and media announcements, ensuring effective delivery of information to appropriate sources
    • Assist in the development of monthly update reports, tracking of major NYUAD highlights for internal audiences, continually reviewing tracking methods and presenting activity information to ensure best practice is maintained
    • Assist in the development of media summary newsletters for internal stakeholders
    • Monitor and update the press section of the website
    • Work with Creative Team on marketing and collateral development of print and multimedia channels, and reviewing promotional materials produced by departments across the University
    • Support implementation of systems for the department, including photo management, media monitoring among others


    Required Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree 

    Required Experience:

    • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role, at Manager level, with a particular focus in the areas of public relations, marketing, and corporate communications
    • Previous experience in a higher education institution highly regarded
    • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with meeting set deadlines a must
    • Exceptional written and oral English communication skills. Arabic preferred as well
    • Excellent relationship management skills with an established communications network with local and regional media
    • Experience with content management systems and social media monitoring and management tools
