New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an Assistant Director of Spiritual Life & Intercultural Education (SLICE), reporting to the Assistant Dean of Students and Director, Intercultural Education & Spiritual Life
This position assists the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Spiritual Life & Intercultural Education (SLICE) in developing and supporting intercultural, inclusion, diversity, belonging and equity (IDBE), and religious/spiritual initiatives as they relate to the overall well-being of the NYUAD community. The Assistant Director will collaborate within Campus Life, the Office of Inclusion and Equity, students, other divisions, and the broader Abu Dhabi community to further institutional IDBE alignment. The Assistant Director will play an integral role in co-creating and implementing a vision of an inclusive, empowered and resilient campus environment that supports a diverse community of students, faculty and staff.
The Assistant Director will support the Director in a variety of capacities, including but not limited to: the creation and implementation of: signature initiatives; assessment and reporting; on-campus programming informed by developmental theory; embedding principles of conflict resolution in IDBE and intercultural work; expanding spiritual life programming; facilitating workshops and training programs for students, staff, and faculty; coaching and mentoring students and Student Interest Groups; and providing administrative support to the Director/ CL division when needed. As with all SLICE team members, it is critical that the Assistant Director maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
