New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a  Registered Nurse reporting to the Associate Medical Director.


The Registered Nurse provides direct, individual patient care and education to the NYU Abu Dhabi community in accordance with established medical standards and ethics.


This role requires the incumbent to be on call on a 24-hour basis in rotation with other nursing staff.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicates and interprets policies and procedures
  • Ensures delivery of compassionate, quality care in delivery of nursing duties
  • Collaborates with physicians, consultants, community agencies, and institutions to improve the quality of services and to resolve identified problems
  • Participates in the recruitment and selection of nursing personnel and assures sufficient staff are hired


Required Education:

  • Ability to obtain a Registered Nurse license from the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi
  • BLS certification


Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years professional expereince as a Registered Nurse 
  • Knowledge of current laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing
  • Ability to make presentations before top management, public groups, and staff
  • Demonstrated proficiency with electronic medical records
  • Ability to work with a diverse, international population
  • Strong work ethic and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of cultural issues specific to the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East preferred
  • Ability to understand the wider perspective of the institution and how the Health and Wellness Center supports and fits into the broader educational mission
  • Ability to understand and appreciate intellectual, emotional, social, and psychological development of undergraduate students in a diverse international community committed to intellectual rigor and ethical values
  • Ability to think creatively and critically about programs, services, and resources in order to provide the best possible environment to support students
  • Ability to adapt to new work situations, people, ideas, procedures, and organizational structures in order to accommodate an evolving work environment
  • Exhibits maturity, reliability, composure, and stability under pressure in order to handle on-the-job challenges
  • Excellent mediation, and consultative skills and is able to work with students, faculty and staff from many backgrounds
  • Ability to work with a diverse, international population and build successful relationships with faculty, students, parents and co-workers

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience working with college-age population
